What's that awful smell? As if the economic meltdown and swine flu weren't enough to throw us over the edge...several Palisadians have reported recent skunk sightings/smellings around town. And if your dog comes nose-to-nose with one of these smelly critters you can expect a costly pet bathing/grooming bill.

If you've had encounters with the local Pali Skunks or have advice on how to reduce your chances of having them smell-up your pets or property, please chime in.

"Staycations" is the latest hot word in town. With the economy and all, more people are staying home. Since we live where the mountains meet the sea, are we taking advantage of all that the Palisades has to offer? What staycations are you planning for Spring and Summer breaks?

Traffic Safety on Palisades Drive

Several people have been killed or seriously injured in the past year on Palisades Drive. Many in the comminity are calling out for increased speed and safety inforcement for this busy throroughfare. Per a recent meeting, Capt. Nancy Lauer, head of West Traffic says you can count on more police presence on the hill giving out tickets with no warnings. Training on how to use radar devices will be made available to volunteer residents. This information that they gather will be turned over to the police. There will be more Digital Speed Feedback signs put on the hill as well. A cement barrier in the middle of the road would mean losing a lane and a cost of $1,000,000 (includes lighting the hill). A light and camera would cost $125,000. What are your thoughts?
